The City That Disappeared Overnight

Last week, my friends and I were driving on a road trip when we came across something that shouldn’t be.
A whole city.
It wasn’t marked on the map. There were no signs pointing to it. Just a group of buildings, totally deserted but somehow… intact. No shattered windows. No graffiti. The roads were deserted, yet the traffic lights still switched, and the neon light of shop signs glowed like they were waiting for customers.
We exited the car, nervous but inquisitive. Where was everybody?
I stepped out onto the sidewalk and saw something odd — no cars. No litter. No birds. The entire area seemed stuck, as if someone had pressed the “pause” button on life.
Then my friend Mia gestured to a building.
